Bill Stewart, President/Co-Founder
Bill Stewart joined the solar industry in 1978, co-founded SolarCraft in 1984 and has since helped to build one of the most recognized names in the industry. Bill holds B (General Building), C10 (electrical) and C46 (solar) contractor’s licenses and has served as a Subject Matter Expert for the California State Licensing Board for the development and update of the C46 Solar License requirements for over ten years. He is one of a few individuals who are certified both in Photovoltaic and Thermal technologies, as well as Technical Sales and Design, by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Bill serves on the Board of Directors of both the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA), and the Marin Economic Forum and is also a member of the North Bay Leadership Council. Bill and his wife Deborah are longtime Sonoma residents where they also own and operate SoloQuest Learning Center, an accredited private school where Middle and High School students learn through individualized and small group instruction.
Dennis Nuttman, Co-Founder
Dennis Nuttman has over 30 years experience in the solar industry and co-founded SolarCraft in 1984. Dennis graduated from USF in 1975 with a BA. He has sold, designed, installed, or managed the installation of over 4,000 systems in Marin and Sonoma. Dennis is a life-long resident of Marin County, he and his wife have lived in Novato since 1977.
Chet Stromberg, Director of Sales & Marketing
Chet brings 25 years of direct renewable energy project development including project management, engineering services, and sales & marketing experience. Chet has personally sold, engineered and managed over 500 residential and commercial solar projects. After graduating with Renewable Energy Engineering, Chet volunteered his service to the US Peace Corps and served in the Cook Islands, Polynesia. Chet was successful as Sales Manager for Silicon Valley with Real Goods and then Director of Business Development with Sun First Solar. Chet is a 3rd generation Marin resident and lives with his partner and three children.
Robert Gould, Director of Commercial Sales
Robert Gould has been in the solar industry for over 9 years developing, designing and supervising the installation of commercial and residential solar systems. He now is focused exclusively on developing and managing SolarCraft’s commercial solar efforts. He has over 20 years working in sales, marketing, product development and organization development in green and socially-responsible businesses. He was a President of GreenLight Solar and Director at Charles Schwab, and holds an M.A. in Sustainable Management. Robert lives in Mill Valley with his wife and son.
Riley Riggs, Service/Operations Manager – Photovoltaic Division
Riley Riggs started his solar career in 2006 after graduating with a BS from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where classes he took in the renewable energy field sparked his interest and passion. Before coming to SolarCraft as a Project Manager in 2008, Riley worked as an installer at Hudson Valley Clean Energy in Rhinebeck, New York and for Borrego Solar based in Berkeley, CA. While at SolarCraft he has managed over 200 projects, both residential and commercial and he gained NABCEP certification in 2009. Now as the Operations Manager, Riley leads the SolarCraft crew with passion to uphold the company core values of Quality, Integrity, and Respect. Riley lives in Vacaville with his wife and two children.
Rob Baum, Sales Manager — Thermal Division
Rob Baum started his career in the Solar Industry in 1980 as a crew chief for Solar Energy Sales Inc. At Solar Energy Sales he met and worked with Bill Stewart and Dennis Nuttman who in 1984 began SolarCraft in partnership. Over the years Rob has worked and been trained in the residential and heavy construction industries, doing inside and outside sales. In 2003 he began working with SolarCraft as the estimator for Solar Thermal. Predominately doing outside sales for Solar Thermal, Rob has been awarded repeatedly as a top producer in sales of FAFCO products. FAFCO is the largest producer of solar thermal collectors in the US. A longtime Marin Resident, Rob lives in Novato with his wife.
Marcus Rome, Service/Operations Manager — Thermal Division
Marcus Rome has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry. Joining SolarCraft in 1996 as a crew chief and service technician, Marcus has been factory trained by many of the leading companies in the industry including Fafco, Heliodyne, and Pentair. Having worked the past 5 years as the Thermal Service and Operations Manager, Marcus is committed to the high standard of customer service and quality installation practices put into place almost three decades ago by founders Bill Stewart and Dennis Nuttman. Marcus is a Marin County native, raised in Novato where he still lives with his wife and two children.
