Sonoma Museum Goes Solar — Saves Energy & Money
The 25.9 kW solar energy system consists of (96) SunTech 270-watt solar panels. The solar panels cover 2,007 square feet of roof space, which also help shade and protect the building, reducing summer cooling load. Expected to generate 35,407 kilowatt-hours annually, enough clean electricity each day to power 13 average homes, the solar panels will spare the air over 23 tons of harmful greenhouse gases annually. Over the next 30 years, the air pollution saved will be the equivalent of driving over 1.5 million miles.
With a 25-year warranty and 40+ year design life on the major system components, this Sonoma solar energy system provides free energy from the sun and will save the facility money for decades to come.
