Assistant Operations Manager
SolarCraft is seeking a responsible Assistant Operations Manager to join our Residential Operations and Procurement teams.
SolarCraft's mission is to build a more sustainable and resilient North Bay community. We do this by providing solar, batteries, heat pump heating & cooling and clean energy solutions for homes and businesses that deliver the highest financial and environmental benefits possible to our clients - delivering clean, renewable energy far cheaper than the utilities can or will. We are 100% employee-owned.
The position is full-time, based in our Novato, CA Headquarters and reports to the Project Manager. This role helps ensure that our projects are well managed from development to deployment. The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Operations Manager are:
1)
To work directly with the Senior Project
Manager to manage, schedule and communicate project tasks to enable an
excellent customer experience and well-run solar, battery and HVAC construction
projects.
2)
To work directly with the Procurement Manager
to administer the procurement and related inventory of equipment and supplies.
3) To work collaboratively with other SolarCraft team members in the
development, planning and execution of projects (i.e. field operations teams,
sales, design, interconnection, accounting, safety, procurement).
4) To assist with the operations administration including prepare Bill of Materials and documentation for installations, PG&E applications and communications, scheduling inspections and subcontractors, and managing building permits.
The Assistant Operations Manager must have a pleasant but firm demeanor
and exhibit exceptional communication and organizational skills. Applicant
should have an understanding of the trades, preferably residential, and
understand client relationships. Knowledge of Building codes and construction
standards, such as the National Electrical Code, Geotech, Environmental Impact
Reports, building department requirements are a plus.
Responsibilities:

Work with Operations team to ensure accurate
and timely completion of multiple projects at a time, often at different stages
of development and deployment
·
Manage project schedules
·
Coordinate schedules with customers,
utilities and subcontractors
· Create Bill of Materials, procure equipment and be responsible for the receipt of the equipment
Qualifications:
- Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving
skills
- Strong
yet pleasant and professional personality
- Demonstrated ability to professionally respond to stressful
situations in a patient, friendly, and timely manner. Must exhibit a high
degree of responsibility and motivation.
- Aptitude to learn about parts and components of HVAC and solar
photovoltaics
- 1+ years in project management,
operations or communications roles in design/build construction
- AA Degree or higher, Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent
combination of relevant education, training and experience
- Demonstrate highly-ethical behavior and good judgment, including
the ability to make decisions effecting >$100,000.
- Must be able to maintain client
and company confidentiality
- Digital Proficiency: must be able to use Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, and Outlook, and other software programs used to maintain data and generate reports.

Experienced Solar PV Installer

SolarCraft is seeking a Solar PV Installer to join our team. The position is full-time, based in our Novato, CA Headquarters. You will work throughout the North Bay Area (Marin, Sonoma, & Napa). We provide training and growth opportunities. The primary responsibilities of the Solar Installer are:
Install solar PV system components including but not limited to: installing water-positive roof flashings, solar racking, solar modules, conduit and wire, electrical switches and monitoring systems. You will also work on ground mount systems, including concrete and excavation.
Requirements
·
Must be reliable. We seek responsible and
motivated individuals to join our crew.
·
Must be able to routinely lift 75 lbs.
·
Knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools,
measuring devices, and power drills, portable band saws, conduit benders, etc.
·
Ability to work safely and confidently on roofs
with ladder access (no fear of heights, familiar with safety equipment, and
healthy respect for safety concerns is required).
·
The ability to read and understand project
drawings and blueprints.
·
Maintain a clean and orderly work site and at
all times represent the company well.
·
Self-starter with the ability to work well in a
fast-paced work environment both independently and as part of a team (3-5
people)
·
Valid California Driver's License with clean
record that allows driving company vehicles for work
·
Certifications and/or clean license to drive
commercial trucks is a plus.
·
NABCEP certification or accredited PV installer
certification a plus.
· Experience tor certification to use heavy equipment a plus

Battery/Energy Storage Installer

SolarCraft's Battery/Energy Storage Installer will be Full-Time, based in our Novato, CA office/warehouse.
Skills and
Responsibilities:
• Install solar electric
and battery storage systems
• Climb ladders and work at elevated heights of
two or more stories on various roof types
• Operate power tools, saws, drills and light
duty equipment, bend conduit and build electrical junction boxes
• Read engineered building plans
• Stock trucks per job at the warehouse
• Maintain a clean work site and vehicle
• Assist with photos for each installation and
upload them to the server
• Arrive at job site or shop at the scheduled
time
• Knowledge and comfort with OSHA safety
standards and strict adherence to company safety policies regarding fall
protection and protective equipment
• Maintain a professional appearance and
character on all job sites and with all customers
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• 2 years' previous solar experience required. This includes installing solar battery energy storage systems like Tesla Powerwall, Enphase Encharge, Sonnen, or Generac.\
• Must be able to routinely lift 75 lbs with technical build aptitude
• Personal means of reliable transportation to and from the shop and job site
• Clean license to drive
• Certified Electrician, a plus
• High School graduate or equivalent
