SolarCraft seeks a responsible and motivated Business Developer to join our team. This is a sales & marketing position focused on building professional B2B partnerships, community networking and lead generation. The position will be full-time serving the North Bay community and will require some flexibility of schedule to work some weekends and evenings. This job requires local driving, so you must have a reliable vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with CEO and VP of Sales to develop and implement a comprehensive professional Business Development strategy to optimize SolarCraft’s market position in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties
- To build business partnerships throughout Marin, Sonoma and Napa to create and maintain a B2B network of local business to increase lead generation and referrals between companies. This will be with trades that SolarCraft often works with (i.e. general contractors, electrical contractors, roofers) as well as other businesses that work with local homeowners and businesses (i.e. real estate professionals, service providers, schools, etc).
- To represent SolarCraft at community events and through engagement in community and business organizations (i.e. Marin Builders Exchange, Chambers of Commerce, North Bay Leadership Council)
- To build and maintain referral programs with SolarCraft commercial clients – to offer discount and referral programs to their employees and/or clients.
- To manage and attend community events (i.e. staff booths at Sustainability or Energy events, Greentech events, EV shows, TedXMarin, etc)
- Engage in networking events and organizations (i.e. Alignable, BNI groups, LinkedIn Local Events, trade association networking events).
- To work with SolarCraft Sales and Operations team to optimize each new client as a community advocate and referral source.
- SolarCraft does not knock on doors or engage in door to door solicitation – however, our Business Development Leader will be expected to visit prospective clients homes with crews or sales reps, providing resources, expertise and materials as needed to further business development and lead generation goals.
In addition to competitive annual salary and mileage reimbursement, the Business Development leader will earn incentives based on goal achievement, and be able to build their own business within a business.

SolarCraft is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Sales Consultant to join our Residential Solar PV/Electric team. The position will be Full-time, based in our Novato, CA Headquarters, and will be an integral part of our Sales team. We are seeking intelligent, self-driven sales professionals who want to work at the intersection of the energy industry, the environmental sector, finance, and community engagement.
Our team works in a collaborative environment to help homeowners use solar to save money, increase the value of their properties and demonstrate commitment to sustainability. The Solar Consultant responsibilities include:
- Know your “Why”
- Educate and inspire potential customers on the many benefits of solar and alternative energy technologies.
- While maintaining the highest level of integrity and ethical sales practices, Sales Consultants must differentiate themselves and SolarCraft in a competitive marketplace.
- Conduct energy rate and usage analysis, PV production and savings modeling, create preliminary designs and proposals and present solutions in a compelling manner via in-home visits, phone and email.
- Pursue leads (company provided and self-generated) for residential solar electric and storage/battery systems.
- Network, attend events, generate referrals and build references to support your ongoing business
- Using satellite imaging programs and industry-leading PV energy programs, and onsite home survey and inspections, Solar Sales consultants evaluate and perform site feasibility studies.
- Consistently utilize CRM (Salesforce) and proficiently log all activities throughout the entire sales process
- Prepare weekly feedback and forecast reports
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior residential solar sales experience preferred
- A positive attitude
- A sincere belief in the power of renewable energy to transform our society and deliver value to home and business owners
- Proven sales professional with strong technical and interpersonal skills
- Experience selling, designing and/or installing solar electric and/or solar thermal systems (equivalent experience in battery/storage, fuel cell, alternative energy, or advanced electrical products considered).
- Strong technical abilities required: high reliance on excel, math, science, design & construction methodology and geospatial software programs, financial modeling.
- Knowledge of current utilities, energy regulations and policies, incentives and rate structures
- Knowledge of solar technologies (i.e. PV, inverters, DAS, racking, storage) and other residential energy products
- General knowledge of electrical and construction methods and codes
- Computer Skills-MS Office, CAD, Salesforce/CRM

Installer, Solar PV
Solar PV Installer
SolarCraft – Novato, CA

SolarCraft’s Solar PV (photovoltaic) Installer is full-time, based in our Novato, CA headquarters and working primarily through Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties. The position involves the installation and service of solar electric and energy storage systems. The ideal candidate will have experience installing or servicing solar PV systems, or equivalent experience in electric, roofing or energy construction fields. SolarCraft PV Installers report to Project Managers.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Have relevant previous hands on experience in solar installation or construction.
- Must be reliable, and demonstrate highly-ethical behavior and good judgment at all times.
- Must be able to routinely lift 75 lbs. with technical build aptitude
- Knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools, measuring devices, and power drills, portable band saws, conduit benders, etc.
- Ability to work safely and confidently on roofs with ladder access (no fear of heights, familiar with safety equipment, and healthy respect for safety concerns is required).
- The ability to read and understand project drawings and blueprints.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work site and at all times represent the company well.
- Self-starter with the ability to work well in a fast-paced work environment both independently and as part of a team (3-5 people)
- Install solar PV system components including but not limited to installing water-positive roof flashings, solar racking, solar modules, conduit and wire, electrical switches and monitoring systems. As well as work on ground mount system, including concrete, excavation.
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Valid California Driver’s License with clean record that allows driving company vehicles for work
- Certifications and/or clean license to drive commercial trucks is a plus.
- NABCEP certification or accredited PV installer certification a plus.
- Experience tor certification to use heavy equipment a plus
