SolarCraft Partners with SunRun to Offer Easy and Affordable Home Solar

Solar is now a possibility for every homeowner

Novato and Sonoma-based SolarCraft recently announced it joined forces with national solar power service company SunRun. SolarCraft and SunRun will own, install, and maintain solar panels for homeowners throughout Northern California to eliminate the high cost of switching to solar.

“This innovative way of offering solar power lets homeowners use clean, renewable energy in their homes with a low upfront cost, and they pay less than what they are currently paying their utility,” said Bill Stewart, President of SolarCraft. “Homeowners pay for the power, not panels, so the responsibility of owning the equipment is taken out of the equation. It’s a win-win for the customer.”

With SolarCraft and SunRun, California homeowners can add solar to their homes for little or no money down and lock in low monthly payments for clean energy. Typical customers will pay less monthly than their current electric bill, saving between 10-15 percent on total monthly electric bills right away.

“We welcome the opportunity to partner with a company of SolarCraft’s caliber,” said SunRun President and Co-founder Lynn Jurich. “This is an exciting opportunity to put affordable solar on the rooftops of more Californians and offer them a solar service that’s good for their finances and for the planet.”

SunRun’s agreements include monitoring, repairs, insurance and a performance guarantee, providing homeowners peace of mind when switching to solar power. The homeowner’s duration of low payments will last over a 20-year period so they can insulate themselves from rising and volatile utility rates. SunRun owns, insures and maintains the panels and SolarCraft takes care of the installation.
