Mill Valley Solar & Battery Installation
Designed around your roof, not a guess.
SolarCraft designs solar and battery as one system, modeled to your roof's real sun and shade, backed by 40 years across Marin.
We design around your roof's shade, not a satellite guess
We confirm roof orientation, shade, and condition, check your main panel is ready for storage, and size solar and battery to what your roof actually produces. If anything needs attention before installation, we'll flag it up front.

Mill Valley solar & battery FAQ
Will solar work on a shaded lot in Mill Valley?
Often, yes, if it's designed for it. We model your roof's actual sun exposure throughout the day rather than guessing, and use optimizers or microinverters so that shade on one panel doesn't drag down the rest. Where a roof is too shaded to produce well, we'll tell you and look at a ground-mount in a sunnier spot.
Can you install ground-mount solar if my roof is too shaded?
Yes. On many Mill Valley lots a ground-mount array placed away from the tree line produces more than a shaded roof. We design for your whole property and recommend rooftop, ground-mount, or a mix.
Who handles the City of Mill Valley permit and access on steep parcels?
Do I need a battery with my solar?
For most new systems, yes. Under NEM 3.0, exported daytime solar earns far less than grid power at night, so a battery lets you store your own energy for the evening, and it's designed to keep essential circuits running during an outage.
Will a battery keep my home powered in an outage?
A home battery is designed to keep your essential circuits (or more of the home) running during a power outage. Runtime depends on your battery size and which circuits you back up, both of which we size with you.
How does the Prepaid PPA work?
You pay one discounted upfront price, with no monthly solar payments, no escalators, and no buyout, and you own the system after six years. A commercial financing partner captures the tax incentives and passes the savings to you, up to 30%.
Will solar and battery add value to my home?
Owned solar generally adds resale value in California and typically does so without increasing your property tax assessment.
