Sausalito Solar & Battery Installation
Solar and storage, for the hills above the bay.
SolarCraft designs solar and battery systems as one, engineered for Sausalito's steep lots and salt air, backed by 40 years of work across Marin, including the Sundial Broadcasting system on the Headlands.
Steep hillside homes and bay views
Fog at the Gate and the sunnier, sheltered pockets in between vary block to block, which is exactly why we model each roof rather than assume.
Why choose SolarCraft in Sausalito

Sausalito solar & battery FAQ
Can you install solar on a steep Sausalito hillside home?
Yes, it's much of what we do here. We plan access and logistics for steep, stair-access lots, orient panels to the roof planes that produce best while respecting your views, and keep the install low-profile. Hillside homes sometimes need a main-panel upgrade first, which we confirm during design.
Will salt air and wind off the bay affect my solar?
We plan for it. Near the water and on the ridges we use corrosion-protected racking and panels certified for coastal and marine environments, the same approach we engineered into the Sundial Broadcasting system, which we rated for 100 mph winds.
Who handles the City of Sausalito permit and PG&E paperwork?
Do I need a battery with my solar?
Will a battery keep my home powered in an outage?
A home battery is designed to keep your essential circuits (or more of the home) running during a power outage. Runtime depends on your battery size and which circuits you back up, both of which we size with you.
How does the Prepaid PPA work?
You pay one discounted upfront price, with no monthly solar payments, no escalators, and no buyout, and you own the system after six years. A commercial financing partner captures the tax incentives and passes the savings to you, up to 30%.
Will solar and battery add value to my home?
Owned solar generally adds resale value in California, and typically does so without increasing your property-tax assessment.
