Windsor solar & battery FAQ
Do you install commercial solar for Windsor wineries?
Yes. We've built Russian River Valley winery systems, including DuMOL and Bricoleur, sized to each property's load and built to work around operations like harvest. We handle design, permitting, and PG&E interconnection.
Can you install ground-mount solar on a vineyard or larger parcel?
Yes. On vineyards and larger lots, a ground-mount array can be placed where the land gets the best sun and sized for the home, barn, or pumps. We design for the whole property.
Do you do home solar in Windsor, not just wineries?
Absolutely. We install residential solar and battery throughout Windsor, from Old Downtown to the newer subdivisions and the hills, designed to each roof and how the home uses power.
Do I need a battery with my solar?
For most new systems, yes. Under NEM 3.0, exported daytime solar earns far less than grid power at night, so a battery (battery storage residential) lets you store your own energy for the evening, and it's designed to keep essential circuits running during an outage.
Will a battery keep my home powered in an outage?
A home battery is designed to keep your essential circuits (or more of the home) running during a power outage. Runtime depends on your battery size and which circuits you back up, both of which we size with you.
How does the Prepaid PPA work, and is there local financing?
With the Prepaid PPA, you pay one discounted upfront price, with no monthly solar payments, no escalators, and no buyout, and you own the system after six years, 20-30% less. Sonoma County also offers SCEIP financing for renewable improvements, which we can walk you through.
