Commercial Business Solar Electric Installation Project Profile
SolarCraft both designed and installed the 83 kW solar electric system for Dahl-Beck Electric in Richmond, CA. The third generation family owned and operated electric motor repair facility is now powered by the sun.The newly installed Dahl-Beck solar electric systems utilizes (272) SunPower 305 watt solar panels. The ProSolar Tilt racking system positions the panels at an angle to maximize energy capture from the sun. The solar electric system is expected to generate 124,573 kilowatt hours annually, and spans over 3,642 square feet.
The facility's solar electric system will enable them to generate enough clean electricity each day to power 36 average homes. The new system will spare the air nearly 64 tons of harmful greenhouse gases annually, equivalent to the air filtering of 13 acres of trees. Over the next 30 years, the air pollution saved will be comparable to driving over 4.4 million miles. A sound investment, the system will pay for itself in approximately 7 years.

"Running our Richmond, CA facility consumes mass amounts of electricity and it seemed each month our PG&E bill was continuing to rise. So, we bit the bullet on this politically correct "Green Thing" and decided to do our part for the environment and at the same time help our bottom line. We began researching solar companies who we felt comfortable working with and could educate us on the benefits of this alternative energy source — we gave the nod to SolarCraft. They were able to closely stick to the schedule they initially proposed and kept us informed every step of the way. We freely interacted with their dedicated group of installers who worked diligently to complete the project on time and on budget — mission accomplished. We know the right decision was made in choosing SolarCraft."
