The new issue of the Pacific Sun landed this week, and we opened it to some wonderful news: the readers of Marin have once again voted SolarCraft the Best of Marin. To everyone who took a moment to vote for us, thank you. This one means a great deal to our whole team.
Why this one matters to us
There are plenty of ways to measure a business, but we treasure Best of Marin most because it doesn't come from an algorithm or a paid ranking. It comes from our neighbors. The Pacific Sun's readers' poll is decided by real people across the county, voting for the businesses they trust. When that vote lands on us, it tells us the work is showing up where it counts, in the homes and on the roofs of the community we're part of.
We've been fortunate to earn this honor from Pacific Sun readers year after year for about fifteen years now, and the truth is it never gets old. If anything, the longer it goes, the more humbling it feels. It means one generation of Marin homeowners and businesses after another has kept choosing us, and kept recommending us to the people next door. That kind of steady trust isn't something any company is owed. We earn it one project at a time.
The people behind the award
We think a big part of why it keeps happening comes down to who we are. SolarCraft has been based right here since 1984, and we're 100% employee-owned. That means the person who designs your system, the crew on your roof, and the team that picks up the phone all have a real stake in doing right by you. We're not a national chain running Marin from a call center in another state. We're your neighbors, and our name is on every job.
For four decades, our licensed team, a General Contractor (B), an Electrical Contractor (C-10), and one of the first companies in California to earn the state's C-46 solar license, has designed and installed more than 9,000 clean energy systems across Marin, Sonoma, and Napa. But the credential we're proudest of is the one the community hands us: their trust.
This award belongs to our customers
Our name may be on the plaque, but we see this recognition as belonging to the thousands of Marin families and businesses who trusted us with their homes and their goals over the years. You invited us onto your roofs, you told your friends, and you kept choosing local. You're the reason we're here, and the reason we keep being recognized. So this award is as much yours as ours.

What comes next
We'll do exactly what we've always done: show up, design and install solar and battery systems we're proud of, stand behind our work, and treat every roof like it's our own. The recognition is a wonderful bonus. The work itself, helping our neighbors take control of their energy and lower their electricity bills for decades to come, is the real reward.
